I work with non-commercial artists on branding, art direction, and social media. It’s where I enjoy most.
Akazib is an independent record label conjuring left-field music from the concrete phantasmagoric – a universe, a form of reality, a coping strategy to live with transience, outsiderness, apocalypse.
Akazib was founded in London 2025 to release music and art created by these unprecedented trans-universal encounters, and to provide cultural and economic resources for our artists as they make home in unfamiliar and unusual environments.
I was lucky to art direct the branding and identity design for the label, as well as create both moving and static marketing assets.
PEOPLE OF THE WIND - Record packaging/identity design
Written by Pouya Ehsaei, Tamar Osborn and Tara Fatehi
People of the Wind moves with the traditions of Zar – healing music and dance brought to southern Iran by communities displaced from East Africa. With deep respect and gratitude for those who endured the Indian Ocean Slave Trade, the chants on this album are renditions of traditional Zar chants. The work is also connected to the book Ahl-e Hava (People of the Wind) by Iranian writer Gholam-Hossein Sa’edi.
Cover is by Artwork by Aylar Dastgiri. Design and Layout by me.
FROM THE LIPS TO THE MOON
